Pray Five (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. Pray Five has no ads and no accounts, we do not sell your data, and prayer times are calculated on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information leaves your device, who receives it, and why.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
Pray Five keeps the following only on your device, and on your Apple Watch if you use the watch app: your settings, your saved cities, the days you mark as fasting, the prayers you mark as prayed, your tasbeeh counts, the holidays you choose to count down to, and your answers when Pray Five asks whether Ramadan starts, or Eid is, tomorrow. The app’s widgets, Live Activity and Apple Watch app read this information on your device. It is not copied off your device, although usage analytics (see section 2) records when you use a feature, for example marking a fast or finishing a tasbeeh. Your answers about Ramadan and Eid are never recorded, as they can show whose moon sighting you follow.
Prayer notifications, the Suhoor reminder and the alarms you turn on are scheduled on your device. They are not sent from a server.
2. Information We Collect
- Location Data: We use your precise location on your device to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. We never receive it. To show the name of your city, the app asks your device’s built-in place-name service to look up your coordinates. That service is run by Apple on iPhone and by Google on Android.
- City Search: When you search for a city, the text you type is sent to Google Places to find matching places. When you add a city, its coordinates are sent to Google’s Time Zone service to find its time zone. Neither request includes your name or any account.
- Usage Data: We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, such as which screens are opened, which features are used (for example the tasbeeh counter, marking a fast or opening the Quran reader), which settings are changed (for example the calculation method, language, theme or app icon), which features are on (for example how many prayers have notifications, whether a wake-up, the Live Activity or Pray Five+ is on, how many Pray Five widgets you have, whether the Apple Watch app is installed, and whether you or the app chose the calculation method), whether permissions were allowed, and the steps of a Pray Five+ purchase. Firebase also records your device type, operating system, app version, random identifiers for the app on your device, and your approximate country or region, which Google works out from your IP address. We do not send your name, the names of your cities or your precise location, and the app does not read your device’s advertising ID. You can turn usage data off in Settings > Help Improve Pray Five.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent with your device model, operating system, app version, a random identifier for this installation, and technical details of the error. Settings > Help Improve Pray Five turns crash reports off too.
- Feedback: If you email us from Settings > Send Feedback, we receive your email address and your message. The app adds its version, your device's operating system and the app's language below the message, where you can see or delete them before sending.
- Purchases (iPhone only): Pray Five+ is purchased through Apple, and we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Pray Five+ and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase records for Pray Five, a random identifier created by the app, your device and operating system, and the country of your App Store account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the app’s features, such as prayer times, the qibla direction, city search and time zones.
- To unlock and restore Pray Five+.
- To find and fix crashes.
- To understand, in aggregate, which features are used, so we can improve the app.
We do not use your information for advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only with the service providers named above, which process it on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

We do not link this data to your identity, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. Data Retention
- Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
- RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as they are needed to provide Pray Five+, and as required for tax and accounting.
- Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it or remove the app.
6. Data Security

7. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Turn off location access and choose your city by hand.
- Turn off usage data and crash reports in Settings > Help Improve Pray Five.
- Turn off notifications, alarms or the Live Activity, in the app or in your device settings.
